The appointments are Huajing Maske at the University of Nevada, Las Vega, Yun Jin Rho at Western Governors University, and Christy Smith at West Georgia Technical College.

Patricia Brooks of the City University of New York, Madeline Clark of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Victoria Kress of Youngstown State University in Ohio, and Rowan Lockwood of the College of William and Mary in Virginia have been elected president of professional academic organizations in their respective disciplines.
Dr. McCool taught hospitality management at several universities across the country. As a leader in her field, she was appointed to lead several events during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Monica Lounsbery's career in higher education spans over two decades. She has held academic and administrative roles with California State University, Long Beach and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

After serving on the faculty and later as vice president and dean of students at Ohio University, Dr. Harter was named president of the State University of New York at Geneseo. She became the first woman president of UNLV in 1995 and served in that role for 11 years.
Since 2021, Dr. Yang served as the Mellon Assistant Professor of the Public Communication of Science and Technology at Vanderbilt University, where she taught courses such as “The Rhetoric of Technoscience,†“Public Communication of Science,†and “Ethics in Science and Technology Communication.â€
Dr. Chase joins the University of Houston from Claremont Graduate University in California, where she served since 2019 as vice president for academic innovation, student success, and strategic initiatives. Earlier, Dr. Chase served as vice provost for academic program quality at the University of Central Florida before moving to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016 as executive vice president and provost.
The five women in new positions are Chandra L. Ford at Emory University in Atlanta, Biwei Huang in the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California, San Diego, Alison Bailey at Illinois State University, Breezy Taggart in the Honors College at the University of Wyoming, and Brett Abarbanel at the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Dr. Garcia currently serves as dean and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. Prior to UNLV, she served as associate dean for education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, as well as other leadership roles – division head and department chair at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and department chair at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
