Gender Differences in the Economic and Social Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Susan Gaber Chosen to Be the Fifth Chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Dr. Gaber currently serves as the first woman president of the University of Toledo in Ohio. She became president in 2015 following six years as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Gaber will become chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on July 1.
National Association of Social Workers Recognizes Debra Gage Hurd of the University of Arkansas
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented each year by the Arkansas chapter of the organization to honor a social worker and association member for the recipient’s dedication to social work ethics and values and as well as accomplishments demonstrated over the social worker’s career.

In Memoriam: Ellen Kay Compton, 1938-2020
In 1980, Dr. Compton was hired to work in the special collections unit at the University of Arkansas Libraries. She remained on the staff until 2009. Dr. Compton served as president of the Arkansas Historical Association from 1986-1988.

Mohja Kahf, a professor in the department of English, the Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies Program and the Middle East Studies Program at the University of Arkansas, was recently named the winner of the 2020 Press 53 Award for Poetry.
