A member of the Mercer University community for over 25 years, Dr. Elkins is slated to become the institution's first woman president on January 1. She has been serving as Mercer's interim provost.

Dr. Frazer was a tenured professor of English at Western Illinois University for more than two decades. After her retirement, she was an elected member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives for three terms.
The new deans are Shelley Nuss at the University of Georgia, Pamela Moye at Mercer University, Anna Graham at Pellissippi State Community College, and Charity Accurso at the University of Cincinnati.
"It has been an honor and great blessing to serve as president of what I consider to be the finest small college in the nation," said Dr. Anne Kerr, who will retire from her presidency at the end of this academic year.
Dr. Gustafson was the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a professor of history at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Professor Gustafson’s teaching and scholarly interests include American immigration history, Swedish immigration, and the history of American women.
Professor Hardigree most recently served as the founding dean of the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Earlier, Professor Hardigree served as the founding director of the Institute for Culinary Sustainability and Hospitality at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
Nikky Finney, the John H. Bennett Jr. Chair in Creative Writing and Southern Letters at the University of South Carolina, will be honored in April by the Spencer B. King Jr. Center for Southern Studies at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
The new deans are Janeil C. Rey at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Denelle Wallace-Alexander at Norfolk Stae University, Mary Jo Billiot at New Mexico State University, Carmen Renee’ Green a the City University of New York School of Medicine, and Karen Sneddon at the law school of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
