In 1951, Margaret Keyes joined the faculty in the department of home economics at the University of Iowa. She remained on the faculty for 37 years until her retirement and appointment as professor emerita in 1988.
In Memoriam: Mary Theresa Somers Urbano, 1944-2015
She was a clinical professor of pediatrics emerita at the Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Before joining the faculty at Vanderbilt in 1999, she taught at the University of Miami for 20 years.
