Now, she has decided not to take the position and to remain in her faculty post at the University of Chicago. Dr. Stoelinga would have been the first woman president of the 170-year-old Carroll University.

Sara Ray Stoelinga currently serves as the Sara Liston Spurlark Director of the Urban Education Institute at the University of Chicago. Dr. Stoelinga also serves as a professor in the Urban Teacher Education Program at the university. She will become president of Carroll University in July 2017.
