Dr. Dougherty has served as Marietta College's interim president since January. Before her interim appointment, she was the college's provost and dean of the faculty.

The new deans are Sandra L. Wong has been appointed the next dean of Emory University School of Medicine, Janet A. Guyden at Bowie State University in Maryland, Amity Noltemeyer at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and Mary Rezac at the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas.
The four women appointed to endowed chairs are Zengyi Shao at Iowa State University, Bonnielin Swenor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Karen Cook-Bell at Bowie State University in Maryland, and Wendy Berry Mendes at Yale University.
The women appointed to dean positions are Jenna Shim at the University of Wyoming, Pamela McCauley at Widener University, Susan Kelly-Weeder at George Washington University, Pamela Slaven-Lee at Marymount University, Cheryl Blackman at Bowie State University, Amy Shapiro at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and Marie Bukowski at Wichita State University.
