Marie Lynn Miranda Will Be the Next Provost at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana
A professor of statistics at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Dr. Miranda was the university’s Howard R. Hughes Provost from 2015 to 2019. Earlier, she taught at the University of Michigan and Duke Univerity. Dr. Miranda will become provost at the University of Notre Dame on July 1.

Marta Meana Will Lead the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
The board of regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education has appointed Marta Meana as acting president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, effective July 1. She joined the psychology department faculty at the university in 1997 and since 2014 has been dean of the Honor College at the university.

Carolyn Dever, provost at Dartmouth College, is stepping down to return to teaching. Gloriana Waters, vice chancellor at the City University of New York and Deborah Cook, professor of business information technologies at Virginia Tech, are retiring.
College Women With Disabilities Are at a Higher Risk of Sexual Violence and Abuse
A tudy by researchers at Michigan State University finds that college women with disabilities, including those with physical, mental, or emotional conditions, are at particularly high risk of becoming victims of sexual violence or abuse. College women with a disability were also more likely to be victims of intimate partner violence.
