Sally Allain has been appointed chief health sciences growth and innovation officer for the Office of Health Sciences and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech. She comes to her new role after a long career with Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as head of JLABS in Washington, D.C. Previously, she served as the company’s senior director of strategy and operations.
Allain is a two-time graduate of Virginia Tech, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in microbiology and immunology. She holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Stephanie “Stevie” Clines has been named associate dean of faculty affairs for the College of Health Professions at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She currently serves as director of Sacred Heart University’s master’s degree program in athletic training.
Dr. Clines received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training and her master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Connecticut. She holds a doctorate in health services research from Old Dominion University in Virginia.
Monique Snowden has been selected to serve as interim associate vice chancellor of enrollment management at the University of Nebraska. She has an extensive background in higher education leadership, previously serving as senior vice chancellor for strategic enrollment and student success at the University of Colorado Denver and as provost and senior vice president at Fielding Graduate University in California.
Dr. Snowden holds a bachelor’s degree in business analysis, a master’s degree in management information systems, and a doctorate in communication from Texas A&M University.
La’Quasha A. Dixon has been appointed director of marketing and development at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. She has over a decade of marketing and advertising experience with both public and private sectors, higher education institutions, and nonprofits.
Dixon holds a master’s degree in public relations from Full Sail University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in public administration from Walden University.
Annie Reser-Moorehead has been named director of the Career Development Office at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. She comes to Drake University from Whitfield & Eddy, where she was an associate attorney in the estates, wills and trusts, real estate, and litigation practice groups.
Reser-Moorehead received her juris doctorate from Drake University.
Darleny Cepin has been appointed senior associate dean of campus life and chief student affairs officer for Oxford College at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to her new role, she was the assistant dean for student life for Mathey College at Princeton University. Earlier in her career, she was the associate director of residential life at Columbia University.
Dr. Cepin holds a master’s degree in organizational psychology and a doctorate in adult learning and leadership from Columbia University.
Caitlin Berry has been named the inaugural director of the Irene and Richard Frary Gallery at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center. Most recently, she served as the inaugural director of the Rubell Museum in Washington, D.C. Her experience in higher education includes a past position as director of the Cody Gallery at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
Berry is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she double-majored in communication and art history.
Audrey Alexander has been appointed chief of police at Florida A&M University. She has nearly three decades of experience with the university’s department of campus safety and security, most recently serving as assistant director and administrative lieutenant. She is a retired major who served in the United States Army Reserve and Florida National Guard for more than two decades.
Alexander is a three-time graduate of Florida A&M University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, master’s degree in public administration, and master’s degree in adult education.
Kwyn Townsend Riley has been appointed director of the Office of Black Student Services at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. She comes to her new role from James Madison University in Virginia, where she was the multicultural spaces coordinator for the Center for Multicultural Student Services. In addition to her career in higher education, she is the author of and She Will: a collection of poems (2018).
Riley is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in applied sociology and social justice from Morgan State University.
Barbara Zsembik has been selected to serve as interim cognizant associate dean for departments, centers, and programs in social and political science for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida. She has been a faculty member with the university for over three decades. As a professor of sociology and criminology, she teaches and researches health disparities in the United States, Latino issues and experiences, migration and health, and domestic violence in the Caribbean.
Dr. Zsembik is a graduate of the University of Akron in Ohio, where she majored in sociology. She holds a master’s degree and a PhD. in sociology and demography from the University of Texas at Austin.
Emilie Miley has been named assistant director of orthopedics and sports medicine research at the Florida State University Institute of Sports Sciences and Medicine and the Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic. Prior to her new role, she served as the clinical research coordinator for the department of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at the University of Florida.
Dr. Miley received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in athletic training from Indiana State University. She holds a doctorate in athletic training and a second doctorate in education from the University of Idaho.
Becky Hill has been named the inaugural vice president for human resources at the University of Rhode Island. Currently, she is the associate vice president for human resources at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She has held several leadership roles with Cornell over the past eight years, including director of human resources for eCornell and assistant director of human resources and HR business partner for the facilities and campus services division.
Hill holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Syracuse University in New York and an executive master’s degree in human resources management from Cornell University.
