Fourteen Women Appointed to Administrative Roles at Colleges and Universities

Carla Ho’a has been named vice president of finance and administration at Oregon State University. She comes to her new role from California Polytechnic State University, Humboldt, where she served as interim chief financial officer and vice president for administration and finance. Earlier in her career, she held financial leadership roles with the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the University of Colorado.

Ho’a holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver.

Maxine Greenleaf has been appointed interim vice president of marketing and communication at Alcorn State University in Mississippi. She has extensive experiencing overseeing communications at universities, previously holding key leadership roles with Alcorn State University, Jackson State University, and Mississippi Valley State University.

Greenleaf holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Mississippi Valley State University and a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Kent State University in Ohio. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education from the University of Mississippi.

Krystal Brodeen has been promoted from interim athletic director to permanent athletic director at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota. Prior to her current role, she served as assistant athletic director. In addition to her administrative work, she also serves as head coach of the women’s basketball team.

Brodeen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Bemidji State University in Minneosta and a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in California.

Alyse Jordan has been appointed executive director of library services and university librarian for the Cunningham Memorial Library at Indiana State University. She has decades of experience in library and research positions within higher education. Most recently, she served as head of the research, engagement, and learning department at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

Dr. Jordan is a three-time graduate of Florida State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s degree in library and information studies, and a master’s degree in religion. She holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

Natasha James-Waldon has been named executive director of workforce development and lifelong learning at Middlesex College in Edison, New Jersey. She began her career with the college in 2018 as an adjunct professor. For the past two years, she has served as director of lifelong learning programs.

Dr. James-Waldon is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, where she majored in journalism. She received her juris doctorate and master’s degree in media administration from Syracuse University in New York. She holds a doctorate in organizational leadership, learning, and innovation from Wilmington University in Delaware.

Megha Madan has been named the inaugural senior director of global engagement and external partnerships at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been with Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, for the past eight years, serving in global strategy and institutional partnership roles with the Goizueta Business School and the Office of Alumni and Engagement.

Madan is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she majored in health promotion and public health. She holds a juris doctorate from Emory University.

Mary Muchane has been named the inaugural assistant provost for faculty development at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has an extensive background in faculty support, including her current role as the assistant dean for research development and director of sponsored programs at Davidson College in North Carolina.

Dr. Muchane holds a Ph.D. in geological sciences from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Alisha Knight has been named the inaugural executive director of faculty diversity at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She has two decades of higher education experience, most recently serving as a professor of English and the inaugural associate provost for diversity and inclusion at Washington College.

Dr. Knight holds three degrees in English: a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, a master’s degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and a Ph.D from Drew University in New Jersey.

Jessi Jobe has been appointed director of admissions operations for the Mississippi University for Women. She comes to her new role from Mississippi State University, where she served as the international student advisor. Previously, she was an international admissions specialist at Delta State University in Mississippi.

Jobe holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of Mississippi.

Pamela Baldwin has been promoted to serve as the inaugural vice chancellor for strategic enrollment and student success at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She most recently served as the assistant vice chancellor for student success and enrollment management. Earlier in her tenure with the university, she served as the associate dean of academic partnerships.

Dr. Baldwin is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where she majored in biology. She holds a master’s degree in administration and supervision and a doctorate in education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Michelle Rogers has been named chief of staff at the University of Maine. With nearly two decades of higher education leadership experience, she most recently served as vice president for administration at the University of Redlands in California. She was promoted to this role after serving as the University of Redlands’ chief of staff to the president and secretary to the board.

Dr. Rogers is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego, where she majored in English and communication studies. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Rochester in New York and a doctorate in leadership for educational justice from the University of Redlands.

Monica Moll has been promoted to associate vice president of the department of public safety at Ohio State University. Her promotion includes an interim appointment as chief of police. Prior to her new role, she served as the university’s director of public safety for eight years. She previously held public safety leadership roles with Bowling Green State University and Kent State University, where she also taught as an adjunct professor for policing courses.

Dr. Moll is a graduate of the University of Akron in Ohio, where she majored in social work. She holds a master of public administration degree and Ph.D. in political science from Kent State University.

Kati Elfers has been named senior business officer for the Carl H. Linder College of Business at the University of Cincinnati. Over the past 10 years, she has held various financial and operational roles with four other University of Cincinnati colleges, most recently serving as the senior business officer for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Elfers holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati.

Tangelia Kelly has been named chief communications officer and executive director of university communications for Jackson State University in Mississippi. She has held the position in the interim for the past three months. Prior to her interim promotion, she served as director of marketing in university communications.

Dr. Kelly is a graduate of Jackson State University, where she majored in marketing. She received an MBA from Belhaven University in Mississippi and returned to Jackson State University to earn her Ph.D. in educational administration and supervision.
