Three Women Scholars Appointed to Endowed Positions at Universities

Brigitte Weinsteiger has been named the H. Carton Rogers III Vice Provost and director of Penn Libraries at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been with Penn Libraries for 16 years, most reecently holding the title of Gershwind and Bennett Family Senior Associate Vice Provost for Collections and Scholarly Communications.

Weinsteiger is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where she received bachelor’s degrees in medieval studies and integrative arts. She holds a master’s degree in library and information science from Drexel University in Philadelphia and a master’s degree in liberal arts with a focus in medieval studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

Zoe Marks has been named the Oppenheimer Family Director of the Center for African Studies at Harvard University. She has served as a public policy lecturer with Harvard for the past six years. She previously held a teaching appointment with the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Dr. Marks is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she majored in government with a minor in African American studies. She holds a master’s degree in African studies and a doctorate in politics from the University of Oxford.

Natalie Lynner has been named the Dwight D. Opperman Distinguished Professor at the Drake University Law School in Iowa. She has served as a professor with the law school since 2017. Earlier in her career, she held faculty positions with Valparaiso University in Indiana and Stetson University in Florida.

Professor Lynner holds a bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
