Linda Dwoskin, senior associate vice president for research and University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy professor, has been named the recipient of the 2022 Innovator Award bestowed by the College on Problems of Drug Dependence. She is being honored for exceptional work aimed at discovering novel therapeutics for methamphetamine use disorders. Dr. Dwoskin will accept the award at the 84th annual CPDD Meeting held in Minneapolis in June.
The Innovator Award, given out every two years, recognizes individuals who have developed ground-breaking approaches in basic science, clinical research, or treatment and prevention science that reflect significant impact in the field of drug dependence.
“I’m honored to have been selected and so excited to be recognized as an innovator for the research my team has conducted,” said Professor Dwoskin. “This highlights the outstanding drug discovery research ongoing at the University of Kentucky.”
Dr. Dwoskin joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky in 1988 as an assistant professor. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University. She earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of Minnesota.
