Ten Women Who Have Been Hired or Promoted to New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

Jennifer Osorio was promoted to director of the Special Collections Division of the library of the University of California, Los Angeles. Osorio, who began her career at UCLA in 2007, has been serving as both the interim director of special collections and head of international and area studies and librarian for Latin America and Caribbean studies, Spanish/Portuguese, and ethnic studies.

Osorio completed her bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Florida. She holds a master of library and information science degree and a master’s degree in Latin American studies from UCLA.

Patricia Priest has been named director of admissions for Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, effective March 1. She most recently served as director of college counseling at the Columbus School for Girls in Columbus, Ohio.

Priest holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in communications from Hanover College in Indiana.

Jennifer Jarvis was promoted to vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Queens College of the City University of New York. Since 2012, she has been assistant vice president for student affairs and enrollment management. Jar

Jarvis is a graduate of Manhattanville College in Harrison, New York. She holds a master’s degree in education from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Stephanie Nuñez, a native of the Dominican Republic, is the new assistant director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Miami. Previously, she served as a counselor and coordinator for the New York State Education Department’s Higher Education Opportunity Program at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.

Nuñez received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2016.

Chelsea Morrese was appointed director of the Landis Center for Community Engagement at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. She has worked at the center for the last five years.

Morrese holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is currently completing a master’s degree in data science from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Tannette Elie is the new executive director of university relations at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She has been serving as a lecturer in communications at the university for 15 years and spent 19 years as a reporter and business columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Elie holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and a master’s degree in communication from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Namiko Bagirimvano has been named the director of sponsored student and special programs in the Graduate School and International Education at the University of Arkansas. Bagirimvano has worked as assistant director for international retention programs in the Office of International Students and Scholars.

Bagirimvano earned her bachelor’s degree from Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan. She holds a master’s degree in international education from the SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont.

L. Simone Collins will join the Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania on March 21 as the new director of counseling and psychological services. She has been serving as director of outreach and as a licensed psychologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2016.

Dr. Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Central Arkansas.

Christy R. Agner is the new director of external relations director and deputy chief of staff at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Agner previously worked as a rural adviser for the North Carolina Governor’s Hometown Strong cabinet agency, focused on ensuring small, remote, and rural communities have access to state government services.

Agner is originally from Rowan County, North Carolina. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University.

Emily Hamman has been promoted to associate vice president and chief human resources officer at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. A member of the university staff for more than two decades, she has been serving as deputy chief human resources officer.

Hamman is a graduate of the University of South Florida, where she majored in history. She earned an MBA at Wright State University.
