New Administrative Appointments for 11 Women at Colleges and Universities

Alyssa Boss was appointed general counsel at the University of Rhode Island. She is a former partner in the Providence law firm of Cameron & Mittleman LLP and former executive vice president and general counsel for the Care New England Health System.

Boss holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Rhode Island. She graduated at the top of her class from Roger Williams University Law School in 1997.

Noemi Crespo Rice will be the inaugural assistant vice provost in the Office of Student Enrollment and Account Management at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Since 2006 has served in student affairs and financial aid leadership roles at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Crespo Rice earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Connecticut, a master’s in higher education administration from George Washington University, and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mimi Calter has been named vice provost and university librarian at Washington University in St. Louis. She was the deputy university librarian at Stanford University. She had served on the library staff at Stanford for 16 years.

Calter earned a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds graduate degrees in business administration and library and information science from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Olga Osaghae was appointed interim chief information officer and head of Enterprise Technology Services at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Most recently she served as the director of enterprise applications and deputy project manager for the Workday Human Capital Management system at the university.

Osaghae earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Ghana and a master’s degree in management information systems from the University of Baltimore.

Susan Woolf was appointed general counsel at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. She has been serving as city attorney for the city of Pensacola.

Woolf earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta. She holds a juris doctorate from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Amy Johnson has been named assistant provost for immersion and experiential learning at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Dr. Johnson was an associate professor of history at Elon University in North Carolina and served as the executive director of the Elon Core Curriculum.

Dr. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and African diasporic studies from Tufts University in Massachusetts. She earned master’s and doctoral degrees in history from Duke University.

Lipscomb University appointed Deborah Watts, founder and CEO of talent optimization consulting firm Hayde and Company, as the executive director of Lipscomb Spark executive education centers in Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee.

Dr. Watts holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and an MBA from Lipscomb University. She earned an educational doctorate in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.

Emma Adebayo was appointed director of admissions at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She was the associate director of admissions, inclusion, and access at Washington University in St. Louis.

Adebayo is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where she majored in sociology. She holds a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska.

Kimberly DeVries has been hired as the new director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Regulatory Compliance at the University of Mississippi. For the past six years, she has served as director of equal opportunity compliance at Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan.

DeVries holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and political science and a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia.

Brie Loskota is the new executive director of the Martin Marty Center for the Public Understanding of Religion at the University of Chicago Divinity School. Loskota has been serving as the executive director of the Center for Religion and Civic Culture at the University of Southern California.

Loskota holds a bachelor’s degree in religion and history from the University of Southern California. She earned a master’s degree in Judaic studies from Hebrew Union College in New York City.

Jaide Hinds-Clarke has been named the coordinator of student-athlete leadership development and engagement at the University of Richmond in Virginia. Hinds-Clarke has spent the past year as a graduate assistant in the leadership development program at the University of Richmond while working on her master’s degree in sport leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Hinds-Clarke is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where she was a four-year letter winner on the women’s basketball team.
