Eight Women Who Will Be Taking on New Administrative Duties at Colleges and Universities

Christina M. Gonzales is the new vice president for student affairs at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She was vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Earlier, she was dean of students at the University of California, Berkeley.

Gonzales holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Western New Mexico University and a master’s degree in educational management and development from New Mexico State University.

Tiffany Lomax has been named the inaugural director of recreation services at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Lomax has been serving as associate director of wellness, recreation, and campus events at Delaware State University.

Lomax has a master’s degree in sports administration from Delaware State University and is completing work on a doctoral degree in educational leadership.

Tina Sturgis was appointed registrar at the University of Rochester in New York. Since 2012, she has been the senior associate registrar at the Rochester Institute of Technology. From 1999 to 2000, Sturgis worked as a resource counselor at the University of Rochester’s Career Center.

Sturgis is a graduate of the Rochester Institut of technology. She earned a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from Canisius College in New York.

Alexia Hudson-Ward has been named the associate director for research and learning for the libraries of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2016, Hudson-Ward has been the Azariah Smith Root Director of Libraries at Oberlin College in Ohio.

Hudson-Ward is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia. She earned a master of library and information science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a doctoral candidate in managerial leadership in the information professions at Simmons University in Boston.

Kristen Folan was appointed director of student-athlete development at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. She was an athletic success intern at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Folan recently completed her master’s degree in psychology with a concentration in athletic counseling from Springfield College in Massachusetts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Tiffany Reed has been selected as director of the Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center at Indiana State University. Reed was director of multicultural programs and services at Butler University in Indianapolis. Earlier, Dr. Reed was program coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Dr. Reed earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Rowan University in New Jersey and a doctorate in higher education administration and leadership from Maryville University.

Marisa Gregg was promoted to vice president for communications and marketing at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Gregg, who joined Holy Cross as director of marketing and communications in 2014, has served as interim vice president since September.

Gregg is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. She holds an MBA from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Joy Moore will become the inaugural executive director of the Pine Manor Institute for Student Success, which will oversee outreach and academic support programs for underrepresented, first-generation, low-income students at both Boston College and Pine Manor College, which integrated with Boston College this summer. She joined the staff at Boston College in 2011 and has been serving as vice president for student affairs.

Moore is a 1981 graduate of Boston College, where she majored in education.
