Nine Women Who Are Taking on New Administrative Roles at Colleges and Universities

Erika K. Davis was named vice president for enrollment management at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She was an assistant vice president for online and graduate enrollment at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. Earlier in her career, Dr. Davis was director of adult and graduate admission at Neumann Univerity in Aston, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Davis is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she majored in communication. She holds a master’s degree in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon Univerity in Pittsburgh and an educational doctorate in community college leadership development from Morgan State Univerity in Baltimore.
Erin McDermott has been named the John D. Nichols ’53 Family Director of Athletics at Harvard University. Since 2013, she has been the director of athletics and recreation at the University of Chicago.
McDermott is a graduate of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, where she played basketball. She holds a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Karen Lucas was appointed vice president of enrollment management at East Stroudsburg Univerity in Pennsylvania, effective July 1. She has been serving as assistant vice president of enrollment services at the University of North Florida.
Lucas earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University and a master’s degree in history from Florida Atlantic University.
Irish Spencer has been named assistant vice chancellor for corporate and foundation relations at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She most recently co-chaired the $2.5 million fundraising capital campaign for The Carolina Theater in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dr. Spencer is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. She holds a master’s degree from Tiffin University in Ohio and a doctorate from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs.
Mackenzie Dilbeck was appointed vice president for marketing and communications and chief communications officer at the University of Oklahoma. Dilbeck has served in the position on an interim basis since October. She previously served as director of communications at the Yale University School of Music.
Dilbeck earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, where she majored in English and public relations. She holds a master of professional studies degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University.
Monique Guillory has been named as the new chief of staff and chief administrative officer at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Since 2015, she has served as vice president for academic affairs at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey. She is the co-editor of Soul: Black Power, Politics and Pleasure (New York University Press, 1997).
Dr. Guillory is a New Orleans native who earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in rhetorical communication and English literature from Tulane University. She earned a Ph.D. in comparative literature and performance studies from New York University.
Kerri Howell has been named chief communications and marketing officer at the State University of New York at Geneseo, effective July 9. Howell has been serving as the director of communications and media at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
Howell earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with minors in public relations and music at SUNY Geneseo. She holds a master’s degree in communication management from Syracuse University.
Eruore Oboh is the new assistant dean for admissions and enrollment management at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Oboh has spent the last three years at the University of Tulsa College of Law in Oklahoma as the assistant director of admissions and diversity initiatives, admissions counselor, and outreach coordinator.
Oboh is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia and holds a clinical counseling master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Kerri Garcia Hendricks was promoted to executive director of marketing and communications at the University of Nevada at Reno. Garcia Hendricks has served as director of communications at the university since 2016.
Garcia Hendricks is a 1992 graduate of the University of Nevada’s Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism. While a student at the university, she played on a championship women’s tennis team.
