Professor Michelle Bell Is the Toast of Monaco

Michelle Bell, professor of environmental health at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University, received the inaugural Prince Albert III de Monaco/Institut Pasteur Award for outstanding contributions in environmental science. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Institut Pasteur in Paris established the award to honor scientists for their research on how the environment impacts human health. She received the award last week at a ceremony in Monaco.
Professor Bell has taught at Yale since 2004 and was promoted to full professor in 2011. Her research focuses on how air pollution impacts human health and pregnancies.
Dr. Bell is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she majored in environmental engineering. She holds a master’s degree from Stanford University and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.
