Five New Women Assistant Professors at Princeton University in New Jersey

Princeton University in New Jersey has announced the appointment of 12 new assistant professors. Some are currently teaching at the university, while others will be joining the faculty in the near future. Five of the new hires are women.

Renèe Bolinger joined the politics faculty this fall and is also affiliated with the University Center for Human Values. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at Australian National University. Her research specializes in social and political philosophy and the philosophy of language. Dr. Bollinger is a graduate of Biola University in La Mirada, California. She holds a master’s degree in philosophy from Northern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Southern California.

Isadora Moura Mota is a new assistant professor of history. She was an assistant professor of history at the University of Miami. She is an expert in Brazilian history, comparative slavery, abolitionism, literacy, and the African diaspora to Latin America. Dr. Mota received a bachelor’s degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, a master’s degree from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil and a Ph.D. from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Evrydiki Nestoridi was hired as an assistant professor of mathematics. She was a research associate at the University of Cambridge in England. Previously, she was an instructor of mathematics at Princeton. Nestoridi’s research concentrates on Markov Chains, combinatorics, representation theory and probability. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece and a P.D. in mathematics at Stanford Unversity.

Stefana Parascho was appointed an assistant professor of architecture. She received her diploma in architecture from the University of Stuttgart in Germany and completed her doctoral studies at Gramazio Kohler Research, ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Parascho’s research interests lie at the intersection of design, structure, and fabrication, with a focus on computational design and robotic fabrication.

Elissa M. Redmiles will join the Princeton faculty in the fall of 2020 as an assistant professor of computer science. She is currently serving as a postdoctoral researcher with Microsoft Research. Dr. Redmiles specializes in the use of computational, economic and social science methods to understand users’ security and privacy decision-making processes. Dr. Redmiles holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees all in computer science and all from the University of Maryland.
