Nine Women Appointed to Administrative Posts at Colleges and Universities

Melissa R. Hyatt was appointed vice president for security at Johns Hopkins University. She has been serving as colonel of homeland security and training for the Baltimore Police Department. She has been a police officer in the city for more than 20 years.
Hyatt is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a master’s degree in management from Johns Hopkins University.
Carolyn L. Branton was named executive director of institutional advancement for Robert Morris University Illinois in Chicago. She had been serving as director of development for the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago.
Branton is a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where she majored in communication. She holds a master’s degree in management from Columbia College in Chicago.
Renee Bostic is the new director of athletics and wellness at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She is the first African American to hold the post. Bostic was director of athletics and intramurals at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York.
Earlier in her career, Bostic was the head women’s basketball coach at West Virginia State University and Robert Morris University in Chicago.
Rhonda Campo was appointed associate vice president for strategic development at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at the School of Medicine of West Virginia University. She was associate executive director of the James Cancer Hospital of the Ohio State University Medical Center.
Campo earned an MBA in healthcare finance and organization theory at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Erin McCann was named director of strategic planning at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has been serving as associate director of marketing for academic innovation at the University of Michigan.
McCann holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Elaine Cha is the new assistant vice president for human capital management systems at Princeton University in New Jersey. She was global director for human resources technology and service delivery at International Flavors and Fragrances in Hazlet, New Jersey.
Cha is a graduate of Binghamton University of the State University of New York System, where she majored in computer science. She holds an MBA from International Flavors and Fragrances University.
Amanita Duga-Carroll has been promoted to vice president for communications at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Since 2016, she has been director of media relations at the college. Earlier, she was executive vice president for Rubenstein Strategic Communications, a public relations firm.
Duga-Carroll is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut.
Lorraine D. Acker is the new associate vice president for student affairs at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. She had been serving as the director of the Margaret Sloss Women’s Center at Iowa State University.
Dr. Acker is a graduate of the College at Brockport of the State University of New York System, where she majored in political science and African and Afro-American studies. She holds a master’s degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University and an educational doctorate from Iowa State University.
Robyn Black Jackson was appointed chief compliance and ethics officer at Florida State University. Since 2011, he has been a member of the staff in the general counsel’s office at the university. She has also been an adjunct professor of legal studies at the university.
Jackson is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, where she majored in psychology. She earned her law degree at Florida State University.
