Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Hires Three Women Faculty Members

Trinity College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution in Hartford, Connecticut, has announced the hiring of six tenure-track faculty members. Three of the new hires are women.

koertmerMareike Koertner is a new assistant professor of religion. She has been a visiting assistant professor of religion at Trinity College since 2014. Dr. Koertner earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Arabic studies from the University of Leipzig in Germany. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Near Eastern languages and civilizations from Yale University.

AmberPittAmber L. Pitt was named assistant professor of environmental science and biology at Trinity College. She was an assistant professor of biology at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Pitt is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where she majored in biology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida.

sytaEwa Syta is a new assistant professor of computer science. She was a lecturer and associate research scientist in the computer science department at Yale University. Her research focuses on computer security. Dr. Syta holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer engineering from the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, Poland. She earned a master’s degree at Central Connecticut State University and a third master’s degree and a Ph.D. in computer science from Yale University.

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.

Assistant Professor of Biology (Two Tenure-Track Positions)
