Colorado State University Grant Program Promotes Initiatives to Empower Women on Campus

csu presidential seal_200The Women & Gender Collaborative at Colorado State University is now accepting grant proposals to promote programs that will produce longterm, positive impacts for women at the university. The grant program has been funded by an anonymous donor.

Preference for funding will be given to project proposals that demonstrate the ability to realize one or more of the following objectives:

  • Intentionally develop, support or produce long-term positive effects for women at CSU and/or broadly improve the campus culture and climate around gender
  • Provide substantial leadership development and/or professional development opportunities for women
  • Encourage men to become actively educated, informed and engaged with supporting a campus culture and climate of gender equity
  • Incorporate an inclusive emphasis that responds to the particular needs of those whose gender identity intersects with other identity categories such as race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, ability, culture, etc. (For example, project proposals might focus on needs of women of color, low-income women, non-tenure-track women faculty, single mothers, etc.)

coriwongThe Women & Gender Collaborative is led by Cori Wong, who also serves as special assistant to the president of Colorado State University for affordable housing initiatives. Dr. Wong is a summa cum laude graduate of Colorado State University, where she majored in philosophy. She holds a Ph.D. in philosophy and women’s studies from Pennsylvania State University.

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.

Assistant Professor of Biology (Two Tenure-Track Positions)
