Princeton University, the highly rated Ivy League research institution in New Jersey has announced the hiring of 16 new faculty members. Three of the new hires are full professors. One is an associate professor and 12 are assistant professors. Six of the 16 new hires are women.
Cheng-hua Wang was appointed associate professor of art and archaeology. She specializes in early modern and modern Chinese art. Dr. Wang holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from National Taiwan University. She earned a Ph.D. at Yale University.
Elena Fratto was hired as an assistant professor of Slavic languages and literatures. She is an expert in Russian formalism and the history of science. Dr. Fratto holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of Milan in Italy.
Laura Kalin was named an assistant professor of linguistics. Since 2014, she has been a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Kalin is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Gillat Kol is a new assistant professor of computer science. Since 2013, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Dr. Kol is a graduate of the Open University of Israel and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.
Nicole Legnani was appointed an assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese. She has been serving as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Legnani holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from Harvard University and a master’s degree from Yale University.
Daniela Mairhofer was named an assistant professor of classics. She was an assistant professor at the University of Vienna in Austria. Earlier, she was a senior researcher at the University of Oxford in England. Dr. Mairhofer holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck in Austria.
Throughout her career, Leeds has gained more than 25 years of experience as a professor and university administrator. Currently, she serves as dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
Dr. Recasner has over two decades of experience as a tenured faculty member and senior administration in higher education. She has been serving as the interim president of Seattle Central University.
