Karen Riley is the new dean of the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver. She has served in the post on an interim basis since June 2013. Dr. Riley has been on the faculty at the college since 2004 and is an associate professor of child, family, and school psychology.
Dean Riley is a graduate of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Denver.
Kathleen Weigel is the new dean of the Donald E. and Helen L. Ross College of Education at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Dr. Weigel joined the faculty at the university in 2012 as an adjunct professor of educational leadership. She has served as principal at several public high schools in South Florida.
Dr. Weigel is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She earned a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
Rebecca Grabiner is the new dean of the first-year class at Barnard College in New York City. She was the associate dean of List College at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York.
Dr. Grabiner is a graduate of the University of Chicago. She holds a master’s degree in Jewish studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a master of social work degree from Columbia University.
Dr. Soufleris, a three-time alumna of the State University of New York System, has more than 35 years of higher education experience spanning student affairs, enrollment management, retention, and student success initiatives.
Most recently, Dr. Van Vlerah served as vice president for student success and institutional strategy at Manchester University in Indiana. She is slated to become the fifteenth president of Notre Dame of Maryland University on July 6.
Dr. Egan comes to her new role as president of Bennington College from Connecticut College, where she has been serving as the Fuller-Maathai Professor of Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectionality Studies, dean of the faculty, and chief academic officer.
Dr. Pfluger has spent the past year as Bakersfield College's interim president. She previously served as vice chancellor of educational services and student success at the Kern Community College District.
Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
