Brown University Study Finds That for Women, Higher Education Leads to Better Health

Researchers at Brown University have found that higher education results in better health. And the health benefits of higher education are especially pronounced for women. The study of more than 4,000 men and women over a 30-year period found that women who had done graduate study had, on average, significantly lower blood pressure than women who had dropped out of high school. The study found that well-educated women smoked less and were less likely to be overweight than their counterparts who did not finish high school.
