Laura Crawley Appointed President of Bethany College in Kansas

Laura Crawley has been named the sixteenth president of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. She will assume her presidency on May 1.

According to the most recent data from the United States Department of Education, Bethany College enrolls over 600 undergraduate students, 43 percent of whom are women.

With over two decades of higher education experience, Dr. Crawley most recently served as vice president of mission, engagement, and innovation at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. She previously held several leadership roles with the University of Georgia, including assistant vice president for academic affairs and director of the Gwinnett campus. Earlier in her career, she was director of the executive MBA program at Georgia State University.

“I am truly excited and honored to join the Bethany College community,” said Dr. Crawley. “The college’s strong values of faith, service, and academic excellence deeply resonate with my commitment to supporting students and fostering growth. I look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and alumni as we build on Bethany’s proud history and look toward a bright future. I am also thrilled to become a part of the Lindsborg community, which has so much to offer in terms of culture and spirit.”

Dr. Crawley is an honors graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in American studies. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in women’s studies from Emory University in Atlanta.
