Stephanie Nesbitt Named Provost of Utica University in New York

After serving as interim provost for the past year, Stephanie Nesbitt has been officially named provost and senior vice president of academic affairs at Utica University in New York.

Provost Nesbitt first joined the university in 2012 as an assistant professor. Since that time, she has held several academic leadership roles including director of the MBA program, director of the risk management and insurance program, and dean of the School of Business and Justice Studies. As interim provost, she has worked on initiatives dedicated to improving student retention, faculty support, operational efficiencies, and academic programming.

Prior to her career in higher education, Nesbitt spent several years with Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, New York. During this time, she served as director of employee relations, as well as risk manager and associate counsel.

Provost Nesbitt is a graduate of Ithaca College in New York, where she majored in speech communication and rhetoric. She holds a juris doctorate from the University at Buffalo Law School and an MBA from Syracuse University.
