Veronica Hipolito to Lead South Mountain Community College in Arizona

Veronica Hipolito has been named president of South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. She will assume her presidency on July 1.
South Mountain Community College enrolls over 3,700 students, 58 percent of whom are women.
Hipolito has over two decades of experience in higher education and community college leadership. She has spent the past five years as vice president of student affairs for Chandler-Gilbert Community College. She previously served as interim president of Scottsdale Community College and chief student affairs officer for Coconino Community College. Earlier in her career, she held positions in enrollment management and student affairs at Northern Arizona University.
A first-generation college graduate, Hipolito holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in community counseling from Northern Arizona University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania.
