Sara Quay Is the New Provost at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts

Sara Quay was named provost at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. Her appointment is effective immediately.
According to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education, Endicott College enrolls just under 3,000 undergraduate students and just over 1,000 graduate students in both master’s and doctoral programs. Women make up 63 percent of the undergraduate student body.
“I look forward to working alongside faculty, deans, and directors to ensure student success, build community, and promote academic excellence in Endicott’s undergraduate, Van Loan, and graduate programs,” said Dr. Quay.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Quay has worked at Endicott, first as assistant dean of Arts & Sciences, then as dean of the School of Education and director of the Endicott Scholars program. In 2021, she was named the inaugural vice provost where she had oversight of the Office of International Education, the Office of Career & Internship, Halle Library, the registrar, and Endicott’s assessment initiatives. Dr. Quay is the author of several books including Westward Expansion, 1849-1890 (Greenwood, 2020).
Dr. Quay is a graduate of Boston College, where she majored in psychology and philosophy. She earned a master’s degree at what is now Simmons University in Boston and a Ph.D. in British and American literature from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
