Ten Women Who Have Been Selected for New Administrative Posts in Higher Education

Tiffany Nolan was named vice president of student life at Williams Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. She was director of grants and sponsored research at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Earlier, Dr. Nolan was vice president for student success and engagement at Quincy University in Illinois.

Dr. Nolan, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska. She holds a master’s degree in education from Clemson University in South Carolina, and a doctorate in adult and higher education from the University of South Dakota.

Pamela Baldwin was appointed associate dean of academic partnerships at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. Most recently, the Hampton, Virginia, native served as the head of school/superintendent for Global Scholars Academy in Durham, North Carolina.

Dr. Baldwin received a bachelor’s degree in biology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She holds a master’s degree in administration and supervision and a doctoral degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Amy Jorgenson was named chief audit officer for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Since 2020, Jorgenson has served Minnesota Management and Budget as the director of the COVID-19 Response Accountability Office. From 2018 to 2020, she served MMB as the director of enterprise internal controls.

Jorgenson is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Dena Freeman-Patton was appointed vice president and director for intercollegiate athletics at Morgan State University in Baltimore, effective June 1. She will be the first woman in the university’s 155-year history hired to lead its athletic operations. Freeman-Patton most recently served as associate vice president and director of athletics at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Freeman-Patton earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She later received a master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University.

Lauren R. Villanueva will be the next vice president of alumni engagement at Syracuse University in New York, effective July 18. Since 2017, she has served as the assistant vice president and executive director of the Alumni Board of Governors at Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Villanueva holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in higher education administration and organizational management from Drexel University, where she is currently a student in the educational doctorate program.

Paula Resley was named chief brand officer and vice president of strategic communications, marketing, and admissions at Morehouse College in Atlanta. She has served as board president of Saved by God’s Grace, marketing board chair of the Technology Association of Georgia Digital Health Society, and board member of Heaven on Earth Society for Animals

Resley holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Florida.

Alycia Marshall was appointed vice president of academic and student success at the Community College of Philadelphia. She has been serving as a professor of mathematics and associate vice president for learning and academic affairs at Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland, where she has worked for 22 years.

Dr. Marshall is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she majored in mathematics. She holds a master’s degree from Bowie State University in Maryland and a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Maryland College Park.

Monica Delisa was named president and chief executive officer of the University of Vermont Foundation. She has been serving as director of advancement for Georgia College & State University.

Delisa earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona. She is currently completing a doctorate in higher education leadership at the City University of Seattle.

Gloria Walker will be the next chief financial officer and vice president for administration at Florida A&M University. She has served as vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer at the University of New Orleans since January 2020. Prior to her tenure in New Orleans, Dr. Walker was vice president for finance and administration at Cowley College in Kansas.

Dr. Walker holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Houston. She earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and a doctoral degree in higher education administration from Northeastern University in Boston.

Erin Hays was appointed assistant vice president and director of admissions at the University of Oregon, effective July 5. She was director of undergraduate admission at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

Hays holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She earned a master’s degree in education with a focus on equity in education from Stanford University.
