In Memoriam: Anne Lee Madsen, 1946-2020

Anne Lee Madsen, a former associate professor and associate dean at the Univerity of New Mexico, died on May 11. She was 74 years old.
A native of Provo, Utah, Dr. Madsen earned a Ph.D. in curriculum, teaching, and education policy from Michigan State University. She served on the faculty at the Univerity of New Mexico for 25 years, retiring as an associate professor of elementary education. She focused her career on mathematics education.
Dr. Madsen also served the university as associate dean of the College of Education. She taught mathematics education courses around the world in places such as Bangkok, Thailand; Yokota, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Okinawa, Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; and Manila, Philippines.
