New Administrative Duties in Higher Education for 15 Women

Sarah Malloy has been named director of the Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange at the University of Arkansas. She has worked for the study abroad office since 2012, most recently as its associate director.

Malloy is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she double-majored in Spanish and sociology. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Arkansas.

Stephanie Sparling Williams is the new associate curator for the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She had been serving as assistant curator for the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. She was also a visiting scholar in art history at Phillips Academy.

Dr. Sparling Williams is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she majored in ethnic studies and fine art/studio art. She holds a doctorate in American studies and ethnicity from the University of Southern California.

Teresa McKinney has been named vice president of student services at Texas Southern University in Houston. Since 2013, she has been serving as assistant vice president of student affairs at the University of North Texas. Earlier in her career, Dr. McKinney was the dean of students at Chicago State University.

Dr. McKinney holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Eastern Michigan University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Michigan State University and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from National Louis University.

Theresa Mayer has been named executive vice president for research and partnerships at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She currently serves as vice president for research and innovation at Virginia Tech.

Dr. Mayer is a graduate of Virginia Tech. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering both from Purdue University.

Kathryn Ellis has been named director of the Innovation Institute at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She most recently served as the director of economic development for the City of Newton in Massachusetts.

Ellis holds a bachelor’s degree in management and an MBA both from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.

Paula Lee Hobson has been named vice president for college advancement at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. She currently serves as vice president for university advancement at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.

Hobson is a graduate of the University of Oregon where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada.

Shayna Stahl has been named associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She most recently served as the graduate assistant director of the Husky Marching Band, director of the Husky Basketball Band, conductor of the Concert Band, and assistant director of the Wind Ensemble at the University of Washington.

Stahl holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, a master’s degree in liberal studies from Stony Brook University in New York, and a master’s degree in music education/instrumental conducting from the University of Hartford in Connecticut. She is currently completing a doctor of musical arts/instrumental conducting degree from the University of Washington.

Amy K. Dacey has been named the executive director of the Sine Institute of Policy and Politics at American University in Wahington, D.C. She most recently served as a fellow at the Harvard University Institute of Politics.

Dacey is a graduate of Binghamton University in New York, where she majored in political science and government. She holds a master’s degree in political science and government from American University.

Angela Clark-Taylor has been named director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She currently serves as director of the Center for Women and Gender Equity at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Dr. Clark-Taylor holds a master’s degree and doctoral degree both in higher education from the University of Rochester.

Kathleen Davis has been named vice president for enrollment and retention management at Saint Louis University. She has been serving in this role on an interim basis since November 2018. Earlier, she led the enrollment management division at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.

Davis is a graduate of The Sage Colleges in New York, where she majored in business administration. She holds an MBA from Clarkson University in New York.

Kim Kanatani has been named the inaugural director of the University of California, Irvine’s Institute and Museum for California Art. She most recently served as deputy director and director of education at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

Kanatani holds a master’s degree in art education.

Yves-Rose Porcena has been named the inaugural vice president for equity and inclusion at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She most recently served as chief diversity officer at the University of West Georgia.

Dr. Porcena is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, where she majored in economics. She holds a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and a doctorate in business administration from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

Stephanie M. Graham has been named vice president and general counsel for Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She has been serving as interim general counsel and has held various roles in Northwestern’s Office of General Counsel since 1993.

Graham is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois where she majored in history. She holds a law degree from the University of Chicago.

Susan Gibbons has been named vice provost for collections and scholarly communications at Yale University. She currently serves as the Stephen F. Gates ’68 University Librarian and deputy provost for collections and scholarly communications at Yale.

Dr. Gibbons holds a master of library science and a master’s degree in history both from Indiana University, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Rochester in New York.

Eva Kubu has been named associate dean and director of graduate student professional development in the Graduate School at Princeton University in New Jersey. She currently serves as the director of Princeton’s Office of Career Services.

Kubu is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
