Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.
Scripps College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution for women in Claremont, California, received a $1.5 million gift from the family of noted statistician, Taro Yamane. The gift will establish the Dr. Taro Yamane Chair in Economics at the College.
Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, received a three-year, $299,000 grant from the Office on Violence Against Women of the U.S. Department of Justice. The grant will allow the university to hire a sexual assault coordinator and part-time program assistant to coordinate prevention and intervention efforts.
