Anisa Zvonkovic Is the New Chair of the National Council on Family Relations

Anisa Zvonkovic, professor and chair of the department of human development and family science at Virginia Tech, was elected chair of the board of directors of the National Council on Family Relations. She will serve a two-year term.
The National Council on Family Relations is the country’s oldest professional, nonpartisan association focusing on family research, practice, and education. Its membership is multidisciplinary, ranging from university faculty and researchers to therapists, social workers, and K–12 teachers. Professor Zvonkovic has been a member of the organization since 1982, when she was in her first year of graduate school.
Dr. Zvonkovic joined the faculty at Virginia Tech in 2011. Previously, she was a professor and chair of the department of human development and family studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Earlier, she taught at Oregon State University.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, Professor Zvonkovic holds a doctoral degree from Pennsylvania State University.
