In Memoriam: Jackie O’Hara, 1933-2017

Jackie O’Hara, professor emerita of French at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, died on October 9 at Carondelet Village in St. Paul. She was 84 years old.
A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Dr. O’Hara taught French at St. Catherine University for 41 years until her retirement in 2014. In announcing her death, the university stated that Professor O’Hara “taught, mentored, and advised more St. Catherine students than anyone who has ever taught at the university.”
Professor O’Hara was a 1955 graduate of St. Catherine University, where she double majored in French and English. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in French from the University of Minnesota.
