In Memoriam: Hope H. Glidden, 1945-2017

Hope Glidden, a professor of French and Francophone studies at Syracuse University, died late last month at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. She was 72 years old.
Dr. Glidden was a native of New York City. She was a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Professor Glidden went on to earn a master degree and a Ph.D. in French literature from Columbia University in New York City.
Dr. Glidden began her academic career at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. After eight years, she joined the faculty at Tulane University in New Orleans where she eventually was appointed the Kathryn B. Gore Professor of French. Professor Glidden joined the faculty at Syracuse University in 2010.
