A Pair of Women Scholars Named to Endowed Professorships

Wendy Wood Neeson was appointed to the Edward A. Whitney Endowed Nursing Chair for the Northern Wyoming Community College District. The chair was established in 2006 by Whitney Benefits, an educational foundation. Neeson is a practicing nurse practitioner in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Neeson is a graduate of Sheridan College. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Wyoming.

Kristi Kiick, a professor of material science and engineering and deputy dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware was named the Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. She joined the faculty at the university in 2001 and was named deputy dean in 2011.

Professor Kiick is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Delaware, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
