In Memoriam: Sally O’Neill Tyler Lehr, 1942-2017

Sally Lehr, who taught at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta for 38 years, died on May 17. She was 74 years old.
A native of New Orleans, Dr. Lehr went to high school in Kingsport, Tennessee, where she was a cheerleader. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Emory University and a Ph.D. in nursing at Georgia State University.
Dr. Lehr had a 57-year relationship with Emory University as a student, graduate student, staff nurse, instructor, or professor at the University. She joined the faculty in 1979 taught her last classes at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing in the spring 2017 semester.
