Eleven Women Appointed to Administrative Positions in Higher Education

Patricia Pratt-Cook was named senior vice president for human resources, equity, and inclusion at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has been serving as vice president for human resources and chief diversity officer at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.

Pratt-Cook is a graduate of Mankato State University in Minnesota. She holds a master’s degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, and is currently studying for an MBA at the College of St. Scholastica.

Kathryn M. LaFontana was appointed vice president for academic affairs at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. She has been serving as associate vice president for academic affairs for mission, new programs, and assessment at the College of New Rochelle in New York. She joined the staff at the College of New Rochelle in 2011.

Dr. Lafontana is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she majored in psychology. She earned a Ph.D. in social psychology at the University of Connecticut.

Jane Moyer is the new vice president for human resource management at Northeastern University in Boston. She was vice president for global human resources at ICON PLC in Dublin.

Moyer is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and holds a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.

Stephanie Pianka was promoted to senior vice president for finance and budget and chief financial officer at New York University. She was vice president for financial operations and university treasurer.

Pianka is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego, where she majored in computer science. She earned an MBA at New York University.

Amber Williams was named assistant vice chancellor for academic services and enrollment management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since 2011, Dr. Williams has served as director of admissions and associate dean of enrollment management at the University of Nebraska. She joined the staff at the university in 2002 as assistant director for diversity recruitment.

Dr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from the University of Nebraska.

Fern Mallis was appointed director of the Fashion Institute of Technology Foundation. She is president of her own international fashion and design firm and the founder of the New York City Fashion Week.

Mallis is the author of Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons With Fern Mallis (Rizzoli, 2015). She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System.

Janine Iamunno was promoted to chief communications officer at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Since 2012, she has been executive director of the Office of University Relations.

Iamunno is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in New York.

Nina Hobcroft was appointed vice president of strategic alliances and market development at Virginia Commonwealth University Health. She is the former senior vice president of strategy development at HCA Capital Division.

Hobcroft holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lori Voss was named director of purchasing services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been serving in the post on an interim basis since August 2016. Earlier, she was assistant director of purchasing services for eight years.

Voss holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration management and marketing from the University of Wisconsin.

Allison H. Crume was appointed as interim vice president for student affairs at Florida State University. Since July 2013, Dr. Crume has served as associate vice president for student affairs.

Dr. Crume earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia College & State University. She holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Florida State University.

Jenifer Andrasko was named the next president and chief executive officer of the University of Virginia Alumni Association. She will be the first woman to serve in this post. Andrasko was director of the Results Delivery division of Bain & Company in Washington, D.C. Earlier, she served for 10 years as a pilot in the U.S. Navy.

Andrasko is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in political science. She holds a master’s degree in strategic planning from the Naval Post-Graduate School and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
