One Woman Among the Four Finalists for President of Ohio University

Ohio University in Athens has announced a field of four finalists for president of the university. All four candidates will visit the Athens campus by the middle of January to meet with students, administrators, and faculty. Each candidate will participate in an open forum where they will answer questions from members of the university community.
Three of the candidates are men who are, or have been, presidents of state universities. The fourth candidate is a woman.
Pam Benoit is the current executive vice president and provost at Ohio University. She joined the staff at Ohio University in 2009. Previously, she served as vice provost of advanced studies and dean of the Graduate School at the University of Missouri. Earlier, she served as chair of the department of communication at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Benoit is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she majored in speech and English. She holds a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant and a Ph.D. in communication from Wayne State University in Detroit.
