In Memoriam: Janet Kahrer TeBrake, 1947-2016

Janet TeBrakeJanet TeBrake a longtime faculty member in the department of history at the University of Maine, died in a Bangor hospital on December 26. She was 69 years old.

A native of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Dr. TeBrake earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in history from Youngstown State University in Ohio. She earned a Ph.D. in modern Irish and British History at the University of Maine in 1984.

After teaching at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and Bangor Community College in Maine, Dr. TeBrake joined the history department faculty at the University of Maine in 1991. She continued teaching there until her retirement in 2013.
