The Next Dean of the College of Education at the University of Massachusetts

Cynthia I. Gersti-Pepin was chosen to be the next dean of the College of Education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She will take office on July 1.
Dr. Gersti-Pepin currently serves as professor of educational leadership and policy studies and associate dean of the College of Education and Social Services at the University of Vermont. She joined the faculty there in 2002. Earlier is her career, Dr. Gersti-Pepin taught at Western Carolina University and Georgia State University.
Dr. Gersti-Pepin is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, here she majored in art history and studio art. She earned a Ph.D. in educational organizations and policy studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the co-author of Re-Framing Educational Politics for Social Justice (Pearson, 2004) and co-editor of Reimagining the Public Intellectual in Education: Making Scholarship Matter (Peter Lang Publishers, 2015).
