Texas Woman’s University has announced that it is offering a new online master’s degree program in child life. The new program is designed to prepare child life specialists who will provide services and support for children and their families in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. The program will prepare students for certification by the Child Life Council.
Elizabeth McCarroll, an associate professor of family sciences, states that “Texas Woman’s University is the perfect place for this new degree, as we are heavily invested in the allied health professions and are located in an area that is rich in clinical education opportunities for students.”
Dr. McCarroll joined the faculty at Texas Woman’s University in 2006. She holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University.
The new online master’s degree program is scheduled to begin in the Spring 2017 semester.
