Three Women Hired to Faculty Positions in the College of Business at the University of Southern Mississippi

The College of Business at the University of Southern Mississippi has hired five new faculty members who are teaching this fall. Three of the new hires are women.
Joanne Cao is a new assistant professor of marketing. She is an expert in consumer behavior. Dr. Cao earned a Ph.D. at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
Shirley Liu was named an assistant professor of accounting. A licensed certified public accountant, Dr. Liu has conducted research on R&D expenditures, risk premiums, stock options, and earnings quality. She holds a doctorate in accountancy from Florida Atlantic University.
Holly Syrdal was appointed an assistant professor of marketing. Her research is focused on social media marketing, services marketing, nonprofit marketing, and marketing ethics. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Arlington.
