Suzanne Topalian to Share the $100,000 Taubman Prize

Suzanne L. Topalian, professor of surgery and oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, is sharing the $100,000 Taubman Prize for Excellence in Translational Medical Science presented by the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute at the University of Michigan.
The Taubman Prize was established in 2012 to honor scientists not affiliated with the University of Michigan who have transformed laboratory discoveries into clinical application for patients suffering from disease. Professor Topalian is being honored for her work on immunotherapy in the treatment of advanced cancers.
Professor Topalian earned her medical degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts and completed her surgical residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
