Scripps College in Claremont, California, Names Larissa Z. Tiedens as Its Ninth President

The board of trustees of Scripps College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution for women in Claremont, California, has selected Larissa Z. Tiedens as its ninth president. She will take office on August 1.
Dr. Tiedens is a social psychologist who has been serving as senior associate dean of academic affairs in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. She also held the faculty post as the Jonathan B. Lovelace Professor of Organizational Behavior. Professor Tiedens first joined the Stanford faculty in 1998.
Dr. Tiedens is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Michigan.
