New Faculty Roles at Major Universities for Six Women Academics

Deborah Stipek was appointed faculty director of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University. Dr. Stipek is the Judy Koch Professor of Education and the former dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Education. She will begin her new role at Stanford in the fall of 2016.
Dr. Stipek is a graduate of the University of Washington. She earned a Ph.D. in developmental psychology at Yale University.
Gwendolyn Williams was named professor and chair of the department of education psychology and health at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. She was director of the National Writing Project.
Dr. Williams is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University.
Kacey Durant was named an assistant professor of family and community medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno. She recently completed a obstetrical fellowship at the University of Texas.
Dr. Durant earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a medial degree at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Nzingha Dalila was named an assistant professor in the department of social sciences at the Clermont campus of the University of Cincinnati. She was an adjunct professor at the Clermont campus.
Dr. Dalila holds a bachelor’s degree in African American studies and a doctorate in counseling education and supervision from the University of Cincinnati. She also earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
Katherine Campbell was appointed chair of the department of accountancy in the College of Business & Public Administration at the University of North Dakota. She will also serve as the Kulas Koppenhaver Faculty Endowed Professor of Accountancy. Dr. Campbell joined the faculty at the university in 2003.
Professor Campbell holds a master’s degree in accounting from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She earned a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Washington.
Asuman Ozdaglar was named to the Joseph F. and Nancy P. Keithley Professorship in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Ozdaglar has been on the MIT faculty since 2003.
Dr. Ozdaglar is a graduate of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
