Virginia Tech’s Anisa Zvonkovic to Lead the National Council on Family Relations

Anisa Zvonkovic, professor and chair of the department of human development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, was named president-elect of the National Council on Family Relations. Founded in 1938, the National Council on Family Relations is a multidisciplinary professional organization focused on family research.
Professor Zvonkovic will begin a two-year term as president-elect at the council’s annual meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, in November. She will subsequently serve a two-year term as president of the organization.
Dr. Zvonkovic joined the faculty at Virginia Tech in 2011. Previously, she was a professor and chair of the department of human development and family studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Earlier, she taught at Oregon State University.
Professor Zvonkovic is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University.
