Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.
Texas Woman’s University is participating in a five-year, $4.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for programs to reduce teen pregnancies in Dallas County. Mandy Golman, an assistant professor of health studies and Nila Ricks, an assistant professor of social work at the university, will conduct a needs assessment for the grant project in five Dallas neighborhoods. They will also serve as the evaluation partner on the grant project.
The University of Arkansas Little Rock received a $75,000 grant from the Arkansas Breast Cancer Research Program for research on the detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton received a $188,776 grant from the Digital Trust Foundation for research into the phenomenon of electronic dating violence and cyberbullying.
