Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.

Wellesley College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution for women in Massachusetts, received a $120,000 grant from the Getty Foundation that will support the conservation of the Jewett Arts Center on the college’s campus. The Getty Foundation’s Keeping It Modern program supports efforts to preserve building “of the highest architectural significance” around the world. The Jewett Arts Center opened in 1958. It was designed by American architect Paul Rudolph.

The University of Cincinnati‘s College of Medicine received a five-year $1.8 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to support research on breast cancer.
