Flora W. Tydings is the new president of Chattanooga State Community College in Tennessee. The college enrolls nearly 10,000 students and women make up 60 percent of the student body.
Since 2003, Dr. Tydings has served as president of Athens Technical College in Georgia. Earlier in her career, she was vice president of academic affairs at Central Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins.
Dr. Tydings is a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where she majored in education and behavioral sciences. She earned a master’s degree in education at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and an educational doctorate at the University of Georgia.
