The New Provost at the City University of New York

Vita Carulli Rabinowitz was named provost and executive chancellor for academic affairs at the City University of New York. Since 2007, Dr. Rabinowitz has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Hunter College of the City University of New York System. She will begin her new duties on July 1.
Dr. Rabinowitz joined the Hunter College psychology faculty in 1978. She chaired the psychology department from 1999 to 2005. In 1989 she was also appointed to the faculty of the doctoral program in psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center.
Dr. Rabinowitz holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in social psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
